The developer of "ARC Raiders" took the initiative to delete game files to prevent data mining

In the context of frequent data mining of current game content, the developer Embark Studios took a radical measure to protect the undisclosed content of "ARC Raiders" after the technical test - directly deleting the key files in the game client.

With the official end of the technical test of "ARC Raiders", Embark Studios did not retain the regular game files for players to explore, but pushed a special update package to completely clear all important data in the client. The screenshots posted by netizen Scrappy confirmed that a large number of files in the client have been removed after the update.

What is more intriguing is that the developer also left a .exe executable file, which will display the following information after running:

The top string is decoded by Base64 and displayed as "2025/xx/yy". Although the specific date is not disclosed, it confirms that the game will be released this year.

Although this measure may not completely prevent data mining, it sets a precedent. Some people believe that data mining can help build momentum for the game, but Embark Studios obviously prefers to keep the content mysterious - previously, the third season update file of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" had leaked information that the wall running mechanism would return, and even allowed players to activate the function in advance by modifying the file.
