According to media reports on June 18, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy believes that generative artificial intelligence (AI) will completely change the company's planning and thinking about future human resources.
As Amazon continues to launch more artificial intelligence agent tools, the company's working model will also change accordingly. According to CNBC, Jassy revealed in a memo that Amazon is expected to reduce the demand for certain corporate positions in the future.
Jassy pointed out in the memo: "We will need fewer people to do some of the work that is currently being done, and more people to do other types of work." However, he also emphasized that it is currently difficult to accurately estimate the scale of future corporate human resource reductions.
Jassy wrote that employees should learn to use artificial intelligence tools and figure out through experiments "how to get more work done with a leaner team."
A recent survey by the World Economic Forum (WEF) also showed that potential cuts in corporate human resources may have begun to occur due to the impact of artificial intelligence. The survey found that 40% of employers plan to cut jobs in roles that could be automated by AI.
