Crusader Kings III opens player opinion solicitation to influence DLC development direction

Jun 19, 2025

A few months ago, developer Paradox began to launch the fourth chapter of its popular strategy RPG Crusader Kings III. As with previous update modes, the fourth chapter will release new features in batches over several months, and the final chapter is expected to be launched in the fall of 2025. Despite the long update cycle, the development team has begun planning subsequent content and has rarely released a player questionnaire to invite the community to jointly shape the future of the game.

Players can access the questionnaire through the Steam platform, which includes basic questions such as game time and player type (focusing on RPG experience or strategy gameplay). The development team focused on soliciting players' evaluations of recent DLCs and opened a suggestion channel - "From financial systems to religious knights, any features you expect to be added or expanded can be freely expressed. This questionnaire will be a great opportunity for hardcore players to directly influence the trajectory of game development."

Currently, the fourth chapter DLC has released two expansion packs, "World Crown" and "Khans of the Steppe". The former adds six crown decorations that symbolize power, and the latter opens up nomadic political system gameplay. In the next few months, the "Coronation Ceremony" event pack will be launched. Players can consolidate the legitimacy of their rule through a grand coronation ceremony, while adding new parliament members and vassal events. The finale "Celestial Empire" will be launched this fall, the map area will be expanded by 30%, and China, Japan and Southeast Asia will be introduced for the first time, including multiple playable clan camps.

"Crusader Kings III" is now available on PS5, XSX/S and PC platforms. The content of the fourth chapter will continue to be updated from March 2024 to the end of the year. Paradox has not set a deadline for the survey, but recommends that players submit as early as possible to maximize the impact. This survey marks Paradox's attempt to establish a dialogue with the strategy game player community in a more transparent way after the Victoria 3 community management incident.
