After several months of falling deliveries and market pressure, Tesla appears to be regaining its footing in Europe. In June, Tesla's electric vehicle registrations rose sharply in several major European markets.
In the UK, Spain and the Netherlands, Tesla's sales in June soared compared to May.
Tesla's performance was the most outstanding in the UK market, with registrations in June increasing by 224% month-on-month, and registrations in Spain also more than doubled. According to CarUp's report, this made Tesla the best-selling electric vehicle brand in June in both countries.
In the Netherlands, Tesla became the best-selling car brand in all models, including electric vehicles. Tesla's performance in Norway also continued to be strong, although full data for this market has not yet been finalized.
These figures suggest that Tesla's sales decline in Europe may be temporary, and strong demand is returning with the launch of the new Model Y.
Tesla had a mixed month in Sweden in June, with registrations down more than 70% year-over-year, but the company's market share increased by 72% compared to May. Tesla now has an 8.6% market share in Sweden's electric vehicle market, according to eu-evs.com, meaning one in every 12 new electric vehicles registered in Sweden last month was a Tesla.
So far this year, Tesla is the fourth-largest electric vehicle brand in Sweden with 3,461 registrations, behind only Volkswagen, Volvo and Kia. Tesla's Model Y is the third-best-selling electric vehicle this year, behind Volkswagen's ID.7 and Volvo's XC40, although the new Model Y was largely absent in the first quarter.
