PwC released "Mine 2025 Concentrating on the future", which calculated the top 40 global mining companies in 2025 based on the market value on December 31, 2024. The top three are BHP Group Limited, China Shenhua Energy Company Limited and Rio Tinto Group, and Zijin Mining ranks fifth.

In 2024, the world's top 40 mining companies will have a total revenue of US$689 billion, EBITDA profit of US$193 billion, and net profit of US$92 billion. The increase in gold capital expenditures and shareholder distributions masked the decline experienced by non-gold companies.
