The 2026 Mexico, 2026 World Cup has reached another milestone, with FIFA officially releasing the official match ball for the tournament – "TRIONDA."

The word "TRIONDA" comes from Spanish, meaning three waves. The name and design symbolize the historic moment when Canada, Mexico, and the United States jointly host the World Cup for the first time. The ball features red, green, and blue, and is inlaid with iconic motifs such as the maple leaf, eagle, and star. Gold details pay homage to the World Cup trophy.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said: "The official World Cup match ball is finally here, and it's truly stunning. The design of 'TRIONDA' captures the unity and passion of the three nations. I can't wait to see this beautiful ball soar across the field and into the net."

The 'TRIONDA' features a new four-piece construction and a flowing geometric design, highlighting the wave element while ensuring stability in flight. The embossed pattern on the surface helps players improve control and shooting in wet conditions.

Embedded within the ball is a state-of-the-art 500Hz motion sensor chip that records and transmits every touch of the ball in real time, providing precise data to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, helping referees make more informed decisions on offside calls and other penalties.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico City will be held in 16 cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June to July 2026. This will be the first FIFA World Cup to feature 48 teams.
