Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan hinted at the platform's native token launch.

Polymarket founder and CEO Shayne Coplan mentioned "$BTC, $ETH, $BNB, $SOL, $POLY" in a post on the X platform, leading the market to interpret the platform as potentially considering launching its official token, POLY.

This isn't the first time someone associated with Polymarket has hinted that the team is considering issuing tokens to reward users.

In the days following Trump's election in November 2024, Polymarket's X account briefly shared a message stating, "We anticipate a future token issuance." Furthermore, in September 2025, Polymarket's parent company, Blockratex, filed documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) indicating "additional warrants" in its latest funding round. This move, similar to dYdX's pre-token launch, has reignited speculation about a potential token issuance.

Polymarket is a prediction market platform founded in 2020 by Shayne Coplan, allowing users to bet on the outcomes of various events. Powered by blockchain technology, the platform's odds are determined by user bets, not by specific individuals or organizations. Since its launch in 2020, Polymarket has achieved nearly $19 billion in cumulative trading volume.
