Algeria advances to the 2026 World Cup finals, securing 20 berths!

On October 9th, Pacific Time, in the Africa qualifiers, Algeria defeated Somalia 3-0, thanks to a goal and an assist from Mahrez and a brace from Amura, advancing to the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.


Algeria leads Group G with 7 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss in the World Cup qualifiers, with 22 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Uganda, securing first place in the group.


Algeria becomes the fourth African team to qualify for this World Cup, and the 20th overall.

This marks Algeria's fifth appearance at the World Cup, having previously reached the finals in 1982, 1986, 2010, and 2014.
