Billionaire Elon Musk announced the latest progress on the "MACROHARD" project.
The image shows the word "MACROHARD" being spray-painted. Previously, he responded to a netizen, saying, "We are literally spray-painting MACROHARD on the roof of the Colossus II supercomputing cluster in Memphis, in fonts so large you can see it from space."
He further explained, "xAI's MACROHARD project will have profound impact on a massive scale. Our goal is to create a company that can do everything except directly manufacture physical objects, though it will be able to do so indirectly, much like Apple lets other companies manufacture their phones."
Just earlier this month, he retweeted a job posting for MACROHARD and jokingly wrote, "MACROHARD, a far more powerful AI counterpart than that software company!"
In August of this year, Musk said, "The name Macrohard is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but the project is very real." He stated, "In principle, given that software companies like Microsoft don't manufacture any physical hardware themselves, it should be possible to simulate it entirely with AI."
As early as 2021, he jokingly posted, "Macrohard>>Microsoft." Musk reportedly has a feud with Microsoft founder Bill Gates. "MACROHARD" is a play on Microsoft's company name.
