According to media reports, the Louvre suffered a major theft on October 19th, with several pieces of jewelry stolen. French President Macron stated that he will make every effort to recover the stolen items and apprehend the thieves who broke into the Louvre.

A list of eight stolen items has been released
The theft reportedly occurred while the Louvre was open that morning. French Culture Minister Dati briefly outlined the details of the case later that day.
Dati said: "We have seen some videos: they didn't target anyone in particular. Instead, they would sneak in, smash the display cases, take the valuables, and leave within four minutes. The entire operation was very professional."
The French Ministry of Culture stated that a total of eight cultural relics were stolen. The stolen items include:
- The tiara, necklace, and earrings from the jewelry set of Queen Marie-Amélie and Queen Hortense;
- The necklace and earrings from the emerald set of Queen Marie-Louise;
- The "reliquary brooch";
- The tiara and lapel brooch from Queen Eugenie.
Macron: Every effort will be made to recover the stolen items.
Following the theft, the Louvre immediately evacuated visitors and announced that it would be closed for the day due to "exceptional circumstances."
French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the theft on the evening of the 19th, calling it a serious violation of France's cherished cultural heritage and a threat to the country's history and memory.
Macron also issued a statement on social media, stating that every effort will be made to recover the stolen items and apprehend the thieves. He wrote, "Under the leadership of the Paris Public Prosecutor's Office, all efforts are being made to achieve this goal."
French Interior Minister Nunez also stated that the theft was an "attack on the nation and its historical heritage," adding that police are doing their utmost to apprehend the perpetrators as quickly as possible, and that investigators will operate with full force under official authorization.
