According to the latest data from Canalys, global tablet shipments reached 39 million units in the second quarter of 2025, a 9% year-over-year increase and a 5% quarter-over-quarter increase. This strong performance was primarily driven by strong demand in China and the EMEA region.

A Canalys research manager said, "The market also benefited from a wave of new product launches, particularly in the gaming sector. Growing consumer interest in this application has made gaming tablets a growth segment in the Asian market. Furthermore, vendors are also considering tablets as a key element in their strategies to advance connected ecosystems."

By brand, Apple maintained its lead, with shipments of 14.1 million units in the second quarter of 2025, a 2% year-over-year increase; Samsung ranked second with 6.7 million units. The next three vendors experienced strong annual growth, primarily driven by demand in mainland China. Huawei surpassed Lenovo to rank third with 3.2 million units shipped and a 29% growth rate, while Lenovo and Xiaomi rounded out the top five with 3.1 million and 3 million units shipped, respectively. Xiaomi narrowed the gap with Lenovo thanks to its strong offline channels in the Chinese market.
