Aug 07, 2025

Apple announced it will increase its investment in US manufacturing to $600 billion, adding $100 billion to the $500 billion it pledged earlier this year over four years.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said:

"We are proud to announce Apple's investment in the US to $600 billion over the next four years and the launch of the new American Manufacturing Initiative (AMP). This initiative will include new and expanded partnerships with 10 US-based companies that produce components used in Apple products sold worldwide. We thank the President for his support."

Apple's American Manufacturing Initiative (AMP) aims to bring advanced manufacturing to the United States. AMP partners include well-known companies such as Corning, Coherent, GlobalWafers America, Applied Materials, Amkor, Texas Instruments, Samsung, GlobalFoundries, and Broadcom.

As part of the program, Apple plans to use $2.5 billion of the AMP funding to expand its collaboration with Corning. Corning and Apple are collaborating on the "world's largest and most advanced smartphone-grade production line," which will be located at Corning's Kentucky facility. Apple has stated that 100% of the exterior glass for future iPhones and Apple Watches sold globally will "soon" be made in the United States. Furthermore, Apple and Corning will jointly open the Apple-Corning Innovation Center, dedicated to developing advanced materials and next-generation manufacturing platforms.

Apple is also collaborating with numerous other companies to further develop U.S. manufacturing. A list of these collaborations can be found on Apple's official website.
