Google Developer Conference 2025: Empowering Developer Innovation and Accelerating Development

Aug 14, 2025

The 2025 Google Developer Conference was held at the Shanghai World Expo Center from 9:30 AM on August 13th to 6:00 PM on August 14th, 2025 (Beijing time). Experts from various fields at Google shared in-depth insights on AI-driven technological innovation, development tool upgrades, and the global platform ecosystem. This event aims to help Chinese companies and developers expanding globally focus on AI empowerment, accelerate innovation, and achieve more efficient and intelligent business growth on the global stage.

Technology Empowers Developers to Accelerate Innovation

Google has long been committed to providing technology and tool support to fuel developer innovation, helping numerous Chinese developers expanding globally push boundaries and create high-quality products that benefit users worldwide. In his speech, Chen Junting, President of Google Greater China and Korea, noted that Chinese developers expanding overseas have become an indispensable force in the global innovation arena. Startups and large enterprises alike have achieved significant success in the global market, supported by Google's full-stack AI solutions and global ecosystem.

Google Play's Best of the Year list shows that 13 apps and games from 12 Chinese developer teams have won 14 "App of the Year" awards in various markets around the world, fully demonstrating the outstanding performance of Chinese developers going global.

During the conference, Timothy Jordan, Director of Developer Relations and Open Source at Google, also shared in depth how AI models are empowering global developers to push the boundaries of innovation. The Gemini 2.5 series of models, with enhanced cross-modal processing capabilities and responsiveness, provides strong support for global developers to upgrade their product experiences. Furthermore, in overseas markets, generative models such as Lyria, Veo3, and Imagen 4 are powerfully empowering various creative projects, redefining the limits of creativity.

In addition, the Gemma open model series, which is based on the core technology of Gemini, allows developers to develop more derivative models based on their actual needs, opening up new paths for enterprises to improve business efficiency and solve practical problems. At the same time, Google continues to expand Gemma applications, launching derivative models such as MedGemma for healthcare, DolphinGemma, the world's first large-scale "Dolphin Language" model, and Gemma 3n for edge devices, encouraging developers to leverage its powerful capabilities to create tangible social value.

AI is fully integrated into the development stack to accelerate development efficiency

In subsequent sharing sessions, Google also demonstrated how it seamlessly and responsibly integrates AI into diverse development scenarios such as web, mobile, and cloud. Through innovations to the full-stack development environment and deep integration of development tools, it helps Chinese developers expand overseas accelerate innovation, optimize development processes, and accelerate development, allowing them to more efficiently build innovative applications and personalized experiences. For example, the AI-powered Firebase Studio, with its core "Autonomous Agent Mode," allows Gemini to autonomously complete tasks like prototyping, feature additions, and even bug fixes, acting like a true development partner, significantly unleashing developer productivity. In Android Studio, Google has introduced experimental features such as "Agent Mode" and "By Your Own Model (BYOM)." Developers can describe complex goals using natural language, and agents will automatically perform modifications. In Chrome Developer Tools, Google has built-in the Gemini AI assistant, which can identify and fix code issues directly in the "Elements" panel, significantly optimizing the web development process.

These updates cover cross-device collaboration, automated debugging, and personalized user experience building. Google is helping Chinese developers going global master the core skills needed to build the next generation of intelligent applications, accelerating the implementation of their innovations on the global stage.

Building a Developer Ecosystem to Help Chinese Innovation Go Global

In addition to technology and tools, Google continues to foster communication and collaboration between local and global developers through its extensive resources, community, and partner network, supporting the long-term growth of Chinese developers going global.

At the conference, Google announced the official launch of the "Google Developer Program," providing developers with exclusive resources like personalized homepages and skill certifications, along with timely notifications of the latest events and technology updates. The program also officially opened applications for the fourth phase of its "Global Accelerator" program, helping more Chinese developers accelerate their growth in the global market.
