Although Vitinha, who made his debut, missed his penalty, Paris Saint-Germain's summer signing, Alexis Chevalier, initially saved Van der Ven's penalty, and Tottenham striker Alexis Tell missed the penalty, allowing the Ligue 1 giants to secure a thrilling victory.

In this match, Paris Saint-Germain's summer signing, goalkeeper Alexis Chevalier, made his official debut for his new team, while Dembélé, Barkola, and Kvaratskhelia all scored. For Tottenham, new captain Romero anchored the defense, while three summer signings, Danso, Palinha, and Kudus, made their official debuts. This was also Tottenham manager Thomas Frank's first official match in charge of the north London club.

Just 33 seconds into the game, Tottenham Hotspur scored their first goal. Ashraf's pass from the backcourt was misplaced, and Porro's shot from the edge of the penalty area went wide of the right post. In the 3rd minute, Tottenham Hotspur received a cross from the wing, which Danso headed to Romero, who headed in a header that went wide of the target. In the 8th minute, Zaire Emery crossed from the left side of the penalty area, and Kvaratskhelia turned and shot from just outside the six-yard box, but the shot went wide of the left post. In the 19th minute, Porro's free kick from the frontcourt was headed over the crossbar by Palinha.

In the 23rd minute, Kudus passed through, and Richarlison's shot from the edge of the penalty area, right of the right, was blocked by Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Chevalier. Kudus then sent in a corner kick, and Richarlison's header went wide of the target. In the 33rd minute, Tottenham Hotspur's cross from the right was cleared by a defender, and Kudus' follow-up shot from the right side of the penalty spot was blocked again by a defender. In the 36th minute, a cross from the right side of the Paris Saint-Germain penalty area was blocked by a defender, and Dembélé's shot from the right side of the penalty spot went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Zaire Emery assisted a pass, and Ashraf's shot from the right edge of the penalty area was blocked by a defender.

In the 39th minute, Tottenham took the lead. Vicario sent a free kick from the right side of the penalty area just past half-court. Van der Ven headed the ball in after receiving a header from a teammate. Palinha's shot from the left side of the six-yard box was saved by Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Chevalier and hit the post. Van der Ven then fired home a shot from close range, making it 1-0!

In the 43rd minute, Dembélé assisted a pass, and Douai's shot from the edge of the penalty area was blocked by a defender and went out of bounds. In the 45th minute, Danso passed the ball, and Spence's shot from the left edge of the penalty area was blocked by a defender. In the first minute of stoppage time, Kudus' header from close range hit the right post.

At the end of the first half, Paris Saint-Germain trailed Tottenham 0-1 going into the break.

The second half resumed. In the 47th minute, Richarlison's shot from the right side of the penalty area was saved by Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Chevalier. In the 48th minute, Tottenham extended their lead. Porro's free kick from the right frontcourt was met by Romero's header, which flew into the net from the right side of the goal, 2-0!

In the 52nd minute, Kudus's cross from the left frontcourt was met by Danso's header, which hit the right side of the net. In the 53rd minute, Richarlison was given a yellow card for delaying the game. In the 55th minute, Barkola was also given a yellow card for being dissatisfied with referee Pinheiro. In the 66th minute, Emery passed the ball to Douai, whose shot from the right edge of the penalty area was saved by Tottenham goalkeeper Vicario. Barkola then scored from close range, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.

In the 67th minute, Paris Saint-Germain brought on Mbaye and Lee Kang-in to replace Barkola and Emery, respectively. In the 71st minute, Fabian's back pass from the right side of the penalty area was followed by a low shot from Dembélé's penalty spot, which went wide of the right post.

In the 72nd minute, Tottenham brought on Solanke and Gray to replace Richarlison and Palinha, respectively. In the 77th minute, Paris Saint-Germain brought on Gonzalo Ramos for Douai. In the 79th minute, Vitinha passed the ball to Dembélé, whose shot from the right side of the penalty area was blocked by a defender. Tottenham then brought on Tell for Kudus. In the 80th minute, Ashraf played a pass to Vitinha, who shot over the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area. In the 82nd minute, Li Gangren's free kick from the right edge of the penalty area was blocked by the wall. In the 85th minute, Paris Saint-Germain equalized. Vitinha passed the ball to Li Gangren, who fired a low shot from the left edge of the penalty area into the far corner, making it 1-2!

In the 89th minute, Nuno Mendes' shot from the right edge of the penalty area was blocked by a defender and went wide. In the 90th minute, Dembélé fell while attempting a break in the penalty area. Referee Pinheiro's lack of response displeased Dembélé, and Paris Saint-Germain's number 10 was ultimately given a yellow card. Tottenham then brought on Bergvard for Sarr.

In the fourth minute of stoppage time, Paris Saint-Germain equalized. Dembélé's cross from the right edge of the penalty area was headed home by Gonzalo Ramos, making it 2-2! Paris Saint-Germain forced the match into a penalty shootout with this goal.

In the first round, Solanke's penalty went into the right side of the goal, while Vitinha's shot went wide of the right post, giving Tottenham a 1-0 lead.

In the second round, Bentancur and Gonzalo Ramos both scored from the center of the field, giving Tottenham a 2-1 lead.

In the third round, Van der Ven's low shot into the bottom right corner was saved by Chevalier. Dembélé then tricked Vicario into firing into the right side of the goal, tying the game 2-2.

In the fourth round, Tell's penalty went wide of the left post, while Lee Kang-in tricked Vicario into firing into the left side of the goal, giving Paris Saint-Germain a 3-2 lead.

In the fifth round, Polo and Mendes both took penalties, and Paris Saint-Germain won the shootout 4-3, defeating Tottenham 6-5 on aggregate to win the championship.
